Franco Sacerdoti was born in Naples on 10 January 1919 in a large jewish family. He attended the secondary school in Naples and after obtaining his school leaving certificate, moved to Turin where his uncle run a textile commerce. In Turin lived with his aunt, Emma Sacerdoti. He was a very handsome young man and got married with Nucci Treves. After the armistice, he was arrested in Val di Lanzo and deported to Fossoli and from there to Auschwitz. He was with Primo Levi in Monowitz, but died during camp evacuation near Gleiwitz.
